First Year End of Year Awards

The First Year class of 2020-21 had a short, socially-distanced awards ceremony to mark the end of the school year on Friday in the school’s General Purpose Area.

Attendance Award Plaques were presented to 14 students (pictured here) who did not miss a single day this academic year. These were; Frank Farrelly, Cian McMahon, Weronika Wasik, Rachel Long, Hayden O’Connor, Ellen O’Connor, Thomas McKeever, James McFerran, Michael Carr, Dominik Petrusic, Shane Carroll, Calvin Walsh, Harrai O’Cuillin and Hannah Carr.

Certificates and prizes for the highest Academic Credits for the third trimester of the school year were also presented by Year Head Mr Magner. In the 1st Year Achill class the recipients were Ciara Cunningham and Weronika Wasik. In 1st Year Blascaod the winner was Kaitlyn Gallagher. In 1st Year Lambay the award went to Eve Kelleher and Megan Rafferty and in 1st Year Rathlin, Hollieanne Farrow emerged as the winner. The highest credits in 1st Year Toraigh went to Chloe O’Sullivan, Naomi Richards and Heidi Donoghue Moloney. Well done to all concerned.

Both Mr Magner and Principal Mr Leavy addressed the group briefly before the Student of the Year Awards in each class were presented by the class tutors and Year Head. These awards are chosen by the whole teaching staff and represent academic progress, all aspects of student life as well as participation in the school community. Although there were many worthy recipients in each class, these were narrowed down to the following winners:
