History

Athboy Community School was formed by the amalgamation of St. James’ Vocational School and St. Joseph’s Secondary School in 2004. Our new campus was officially opened by President Michael Higgins on 16 March 2012.

Our Trustees are the Meath Diocese and the Louth Meath Education and Training Board. The first principal of the new school was Anthony Leavy who retired in 2023.
