Study Skills Workshop- Pics

Athboy Community School are excited to announce that we  teamed up with Brainbox, the learning and wellbeing experts, who delivered their Elevate Study Skills workshop to our 6th year students today. The day was organised by Miss Mooney.

The Elevate Study Skills Programme provides students with proven strategies to ensure they perform to the best of their ability in exams. Today Brainbox covered a range of motivational techniques so that students take charge of their own learning, start early and maintain their work-rate throughout the year.

It was a fast-paced workshop where students had opportunities to learn about and put into practice effective note making systems, time management tools, a unique study method and revision tips.

The final part of the programme covered five exam wellbeing tips, and each participant received a booklet with a range of practical information.

The Programme will continue next Friday (24th) when the 3rdYears will have a ‘Learn Well, Be Well’ workshop, also delivered by Brainbox, and then on the following Friday after Mid-term break it will be the turn of 2nd Year students.

This will equip Junior Cycle students with effective strategies to ensure they realise their academic potential while maintaining a healthy balance between work and play. It is a highly interactive workshop which will cover ways to build resilience and a winning game plan for study, homework and CBA’s. Other topics include note-taking, time management, the importance of sleep and proven methods of study and revision. Each participant will receive a booklet with practical tips on study and wellbeing.
