Serving up Success!

The TY students in Athboy C.S. took part in a hands-on look at the hospitality business thanks to a Front of the House workshop with Food Schools. 

Over two days this week, three groups of TY students jumped into the restaurant experience. Each group started by creating their dream restaurant, thinking about everything from the theme and menu to the name and where it would be located. 

Next, they learned important skills for interacting with customers, like how to set a table, carry multiple plates, handle glasses safely, carry trays, fold napkins just right, and take orders like professionals. 

They did a mock up practice menu and then students worked within their groups doing a full restaurant simulation. They had chefs, servers, and customers and a restaurant manager to really get how things work. 

Everyone enjoyed themselves and learned a lot about working together, talking to each other, and how a restaurant or hotel environment functions. It was truly a recipe for success!
