Gaynor Cup Success

Congratulations to first year students Janine and Angie Nicol, Lily Mai Hickey, Emily and Lucy Donnelly and their NERL Academy team mates who kicked off their Gaynor Cup campaign yesterday with a 2-1 win over Kerry at the University of Limerick.

Janine Nicol scored what turned out to be the winning goal just before half time when she reacted quickest to a rebound to force the ball home.

The win puts NERL Academy in a strong position ahead of today’s clash with Sligo-Leitrim, where victory would secure top spot in the group and a place in the Gaynor Cup quarter-finals.
