All Ireland Wheelchair Hurling and Camogie Finals

There was huge crowd in Athboy C.S last Saturday morning for the All-Ireland Wheelchair Camogie and Hurling Finals. People came from all over Ireland to be in the school for such a big occasion as provincial teams from Leinster, Munster and Ulster faced off in the school gym.

Each province played each other on two occasions in a round-robin before Munster took the honours with a one score victory over Ulster in the final game.

Congratulations to all the teams and to the TY Future Leaders who staged a magnificent event. A big thank you to the members of Clann na Gael who helped on the day and to the school’s traditional music band led by Ms. Coghlan, and to Emily Doherty for a beautiful rendition of Amhran na bhFiann. The organisers would like to thank all the school caretakers, volunteers and GAA staff who helped on the day.

The event couldn’t have been run off so successfully without the tireless work of Mr. Sheridan who ensured that no stone went unturned in preparation for the day and that the event ran like clockwork.
