This week the Amber Flag Committee held a Bake Sale as a fundraiser for Pieta House. The Amber Flag is a national initiative that promotes positive mental health and wellbeing in schools. It encourages awareness, inclusivity, and support for one another, while highlighting the importance of looking after our mental health .
The students had a vast array of cakes, treats and hot chocolate for sale in Ms. Lynch’s Home Economics room at lunchtime on Wednesday 17th. Such was the demand, every single item was snapped up in what was a complete sell-out!
The following day, the Amber Flag committee were fundraising again, running a very colourful and successful Christmas Dress-Up Day. Students and staff were invited to get into the festive spirit by wearing Christmas jumpers, t-shirts, ties or any other garment that reflects the spirit of the season. The members of the Amber Flag had a bucket collection at the main door at the start of the school day.
In total, between the bake sale and the Dress-up Day, €1,064 was raised for Pieta House, a fantastic achievement. Well done to all involved for their hard work, generosity, and continued commitment to such an important cause and a huge thank you to all students and staff who supported the event.
