Athboy C.S Sponsored 5km Walk

Athboy Community School will hold a Sponsored 5km Walk on October 15th in order to raise funds for a Therapy Dog to support our students and to support teaching and learning by updating crucial classroom technology.

Sponsorship cards will be distributed to everyone in the school with a minimum card return of 10 euro. Any student who raises €20 or more will be entered into a draw for one of six €50 prizes sponsored by Le Cheile Credit Union, one prize for each year group in the school.

The course will be 5km long and there will be stewards along the way. As it is a fully outdoor event, students are advised to dress accordingly. Parents/Guardians of the school, please encourage your child to participate fully in this fundraiser.

To date we have been able to replace 23 data projectors in classroom with modern Smart TV’s which have been of enormous benefit to teaching and learning in the school. We still have a way to go though as there are many more technological improvements we would like to make.

All the money raised will be used to directly support your children’s educational experience and general wellbeing through updating the audio-visual equipment in all classrooms and to bring in a School Therapy Dog to support student wellbeing.
