Athletics News : Congratulations to Jack O’Connor!

Congratulations to Jack O’Connor, a sixth year student in Athboy Community School on his success in the Para National Championships in Coventry at the weekend. 

Jack competed in three events on Saturday September 6th. He placed 5th in the Senior Shot Put, won a silver medal in the Javelin and then scooped a gold medal in the Discus, an amazing performance from an incredibly talented young athlete. 

Jack, who is a member of Father Murphy’s Athletic Club in Athboy, competed for Ireland in the senior section of the National Championships despite still being only 17. 

Congratulations Jack, the whole school community is proud of you.
