In the first half the Athboy team gave it their all in every tackle and enjoyed the vast majority of the possessionleaving them in the lead, 4-12 to 1-3.

As the whistle blew for half time, Mr McKeown called the lads over to have a very powerful and insightful talk with some pointers to the team

By full time the lads had won by 18 points having played an amazing game with a determined performance the whole way throughout the match pushing themselves to their limit to get this fine win.

Also this week, on Thursday, the second year boys (pictured) and Mr. Sheridan had a fine win over Granard. In the first half the lads got straight into the game taking the lead from the outset ending the half with 4-4 leaving them ahead by 8 points.
At half time, the coach Mr Sheridan gave an inspiring team-talk to for the team to take into the second period. The lads took on some water as they got pumped up for the second half with another huddle.
Again Athboy were very dominant after the break. When the final whistle blew, the Athboy lads had won by 25 points. They put in a superb performance, showing real grit and determination to see the game out on a final score of Athboy C.S. 911 Granard 110.
