Derrymore Springs TY Bonding Trip

Last week, our TY students headed off on their bonding trip to Derrymore Springs, near Killucan in Co. Westmeath along with teachers Mr. Mahon, Ms Ni Shúilleabhán, Ms Conlon and Mr. Potterton. 

They started the day with a scenic woodland nature walk around the area, where they got to meet some of the animals there, like the goats and dogs. After their walk, everyone was given a life jacket, and the students were split into two groups. The first group headed out onto the water in kayaks and pedal boats, while the second group got to jump into the water and enjoyed a trip on the 8-person banana boat! 

After about 30 minutes in each, the groups swapped around giving everyone the chance to try all the activities. There was also a spot of pier-jumping to round off the day!

Overall, it was an amazing trip for our Transition Years and a fantastic opportunity to have fun and definitely brought them closer together!
