Festive Week Activities by Prefects in Athboy C.S. Christmas Door Competiton and Table Quiz  – Pics

By Charlotte Colgan and Lucy Heaney

Throughout the final school week before the holidays, the Prefects in Athboy C.S. organised some Christmas activities including a Christmas quiz for 1st Years and the Christmas Door competition amongst the staff of the school.

Prefects Neila and Ciara came up with questions for the quiz, which put to test the first years’ Christmas knowledge. It was a close competition and after five competitive rounds the winners were crowned and each of the top three teams received a box of sweets. First place went Caoimhe Heaney, Michael Meekings, Tirnin King and Evie Dosza

The prefects also organised the most serious competition of all in our school – The Christmas doors! All staff were invited to decorate their door with a festive theme, whilst also keeping it as sustainable as possible. The doors underwent rigorous judging by neutral art teacher Mr. Kington and Prefects Josh, Lucy, Maya and Charlotte. The categories are as follows “Best Tutor Door”, “Best Non-Tutor Door”, “Best Upcycled Door” and “Overall Winner”.

Best Tutor Door award went to Ms. McSwiney, helped by her 1st year tutor class Walton.

Best Non-Tutor Door was won by Ms. O’Mahony, helped by her 6th year English students Diana Olesiak and Charlie Kelly Ryan.

The Best Upcycled Door was Ms. Di Lucia’s , helped by her 2nd year tutor class Cashla.

The Overall Winner was created by Ada Ogarek and Ódhran Mahon, who decorated Room 19, Mr. Magner’s room.

A special thank you to Ms. Di Lucia who helped the Prefect’s organise a fun and festive week here at Athboy CS.
