There was plenty of excitement in Athboy Community School recently when students were presented with certificates to recognise their achievement in making the School’s Honour Roll for the first trimester of the 2025-26 academic year.
As part of Athboy Community School’s Learning Code, students have been building up an Asset Portfolio since the beginning of the year. Assets are awarded to students by staff members for a whole variety of reasons such as ongoing hard work, oral contributions in class, acts of kindness, improvement in classwork or homework, promoting a positive school spirit, promoting sustainability, creativity, manners and respect, digital skills, sporting achievements, taking initiative, being good with their hands, extra-curricular activities as well as other talents, skills and achievements.
Students can also earn Citations for more sustained or major achievements which required training, preparationand sustained effort by the student and also Superlatives which requireda supreme ongoing effort and training and preparation over a more significant amount of time. The top 10% in each year group made the School’s Honour Roll and were presented with Certificates of Merit by their Year Head at assembly this week.
In 1stYear, the winners were Tiernan McMahon, Javier Martinez Garcia, Neeah Mulvey, Caiden Shaw, Jason O’Reilly, Aoibheann Dolan, Mabel Mahajan, Caoimhe Heaney, Emily Doherty, Evie Moran, Darragh O’Riordan, Daisy Crichton, Darrah Peyton, Leon Cleary and Charlie Pegg.
In 2nd YearEimear Pentony, Brandon Lee, Amy Brady, Emilio Suarez, Patrick Sullivan, Chantelle Daly, Liam Collins, Cormac Collier, Lukrecija Luka Indzeleviciutre, Callan Shaw, Molly Hethertonand Daria Ghisoiuare the Honour Roll recipients.
In 3rd YearSamantha Taylor, Daria Huk, Lauren Magee, Killian McEntee, Blathnaid Walsh, Izabelle Donohoe-Moloney, Walter Duffy, Cleo Hering, Aaron Reilly, Ely Chepiha, Teah Morrissey, Nenyasha Maticha, Yeva Mariash, SophieKelly and Melissa Clarke make the Honour Roll.
The T.Y.recipients were Pearce Jennings, Barry Castles, Erin Melligan, Carmen Garcia Gomez, Kajus Gasparevicius and Isobel Canty.
In 5thYear the winners were Cormac D’Arcy, Lee Ryan, Daniel Farrell, Jessica Williams, Ava Duignan, Ieva Petrauskaite, Zoe Fanning, Andrian Pleisa, Rebecca Masterson, Barbora Hladikova, Ella Murtagh and Leon Rooney.In LCA1, Niamh Colvin and Zach Hering madethe Honour Roll.
In 6thYear the recipients were Lucy Heaney, Liam Fenton, Shane Kelly, Sean Doyle, Oisin Ennis, Marc Finlayson, Thomas Stehlik, Sorcha O’Rourkeand Jake Smyth. In LCA2 the winners were Sarah Buckley-Doran and Sophie Tenanty
Congratulations to all the students who made the Honour Roll. They have all been invited on a bowling trip courtesy of the school as a reward for their achievements and have been posted on the Honour Roll noticeboard in the school.
The second trimester started on November 17th and every student in the school now has the opportunity to continue building up their Asset Portfolio before this trimester ends in the springtime.
