Leaving Cert Graduation Ceremony- Pics

Graduation Ceremony

On Thursday May 22nd, Athboy C.S. held a beautiful Graduation Ceremony in the school gym. The celebrant was Fr. David Brennan, and the event was organised by the Graduation Committee, headed by Miss Prunty with Miss Gilna, Miss O’Rourke and Mr O’Dowd.

The Graduation Theme was ‘Our Journey So Far’ and it was a hugely enjoyable celebratory evening, a fitting farewell to a great group of Leaving Cert students after their years in Athboy Community School.

The 1st and 6th Yr choirs provided the music, conducted by Miss Evans and Miss McGowan. Artwork on the night was co-ordinated by Mr. Kington. At the end of the evening the School Captains and Students of the Year Keelin McKeogh, Fiona Boylan and Caolan Fitzsimons cut the graduation cake to huge applause.

Earlier in the week the Leaving Cert class had an ‘Anything But a Bag Day’ on Monday 19thwhere there was a great variety of entries from pillow cases and prams, to guitar cases and bread-bins! Great fun was had by all and the students really entered into the spirit of things as they began their final week in the school.

This was followed by a farewell Barbecue on Tuesday 20th where the class were presented with their Yearbooks, full colour 80-page souvenirs of their time in the school packed full of pictures, stories and memories.

At the Awards ceremony on Wednesday Fiona Boylan and Caolan Fitzsimons were announced as Students of the Year, Kaitlyn Gallagher and Eoin Kelleher scooped the Sports Personlaitiy of the Year prize, Grace Voynov and Cam Ly Stewart won the Creativity Award, Rihana Kalala and Kieron Dunne won the Care Ward, Conor Muldoon was presented with as Student Voice Award and Keelin McKeogh was presented with the Mol an Oige award.

The whole school community would like to congratulate the graduates and wish the 123 Leaving Cert students the best of luck in the future and in their exams in June.
