Hallowe’en Dress Up Day

Athboy Community School held a very successful Hallowe’en Dress Up Day on Thursday October 22nd with prizes for the best/ most creatively dressed, organised by the Student Council.

At lunchtime the GPA was full of colour and music as the Student Council judges invited each year group in turn up on stage.

In 1st year, Katie Willoughby finished in 4th place, Laura Poian took 3rd place, second place went to Athina Giannopoulou, and the winner was Mieke Scannell who dressed as The Mad Hatter.

In 2nd year, Daisy Duffy scooped 4th prize, third place went to Katarina Szaboova, Dimeira Zubrikaite and Evi Dozsa took second and the top prize went to Leann Mostert.

In 3rd year, Alex Giampaoli won third prize, Conor Boland took second spot and ‘Best Dressed’ went to Jacob Sweeney.

In Transition Year, Walter Duffy took 4th spot, Cian Michael Ryan was awarded third prize, Ruby Gethin took second for her Mrs. Doubtfire outfit and Killian Moore took top spot.

In 5th year, Sean Quigley won fourth prize with Steven Farrelly in third. Second went to Nikas Tupikas as Socrates and ’Best Dressed’ went to Sophie Gibbons.

In 6th Year, Casey O’Sullivan took fourth place with her Monopoly Man outfit, the third prize went to Zoey Fanning, Ava White took second spot, and the ‘Best Dressed’ went to an incredible creation from Ada Ogarek.

Finally, the staff took to the stage, much to the delight of the packed GPA. Mr. McHugh took fifth spot with Miss Gillick in fourth. Miss Dowling and Miss Maples finished in third with Mr. Kington as runner up as Forrest Gump. But the top prize for Best Dressed Teacher went to our very own astronaut, Miss Vaughan.

It was an amazing day full of colours, creativity and fun. Shout-out to Daisy Crichton and Killian McEntee who MC’ed the prize giving. Thanks to each and every student and staff member who took part.
