Athboy Community School welcomed Peter Connolly from the Irish Heart Foundation on Friday last (March 27th), where he met with 6th year students to speak about the organisation’s important work and to share his personal experience of having a stroke.
His visit proved both informative and inspiring, offering students a valuable insight into heart health and the impact of stroke, along with practical advice for the future.
During the visit, a cheque for €480.60 was presented to the Irish Heart Foundation. The funds were raised by students at this year’s Athboy Community School Enterprise Fair. The charity was selected in memory of the late Ms. Shannon Watson, a much-loved teacher and friend who is fondly remembered by the entire school community.
