Junior Girls Gaelic Football

Last Thursday, the 4th of December, the Junior Girls Football team travelled up to Laois to play against St. Fergal’s College in an exciting, challenging game of football. 

Athboy played a great first half, with scores from Chloe Doherty and Daisy Mulvaney, with fine work in the defence line, and we also had some excellent passing and tackles from all the girls. 

By half time, the score was very close, 1:1 to 1:7 for St. Fergal’s. The girls went out in the second half and put in an amazing effort, making a superb comeback, getting some more great scores from Daisy and Chloe. Unfortunately, despite the girls best efforts, the final score was 2:6 to 4:7 for St. Fergal’s. 

Overall, it was an excellent performance by all the girls on the team, and there is no doubt that they represented our school very well!
