Junior Hurlers Reach North Leinster Final

Athboy C.S. 3:17

Mount Mellick (Laois) 4:4

Well done to the Junior boys hurling team who won their semi final on Wednesday in windy conditions, coming up with a top quality performance from start to finish.

The Athboy lads came up against a much physically bigger Mountmellick side, but showed brilliant intensity and fight, which in the end over-powered their opponents.

There were some top class performances from several of the Athboy team, including Ryan Denning, Henry Muldoon and Shane Darby, but especially from Ben Denning at full back who produced a Man of the Match display.

The lads now have a final again to get ready for and hopefully they can go one step further this year and bring home the silverware!

Well done lads and your coach Mr. McGovern.
