Leadership Week in Athboy C.S.

There was great excitement today in the school’s General Purpose Area as part of Student Leadership Week when the 2nd Years had their Democratic Lottery to choose their representatives on the Student Council.

All students were briefed on the work of the Student Council and invited to put their names forward to represent their peers. The whole year group gathered this morning for assembly with Year Head Miss Dowling, their tutors and the Student Council Liaison teacher Mr. Magner.

Once all the nominations were in, a democratic lottery took place to choose those who are to be on the Student Council. There was huge interest from so many in the year but in the end congratulations go to Tiernan McMahon, Adam Brummell, Daisy Crichton, Daisy Duffy and Ava Gavigan who emerged as those reps.

Student Leadership Week continues with 3rd, 5th and 6th Years electing their reps after their assemblies this week and the 1st year democratic lottery will take place on Friday morning. Transition Year Student Council elections will take place after assembly on Monday.
