School Debating

Athboy Community School Debate Team students took part in first round of the  Concern Debates online today (Monday October 12th) against Moate Community School.

The motion before the house was that “A fair society should not have billionaires.” Athboy C.S. students were proposing the motion and had excellent engagement throughout.

The captain on the day was Aaron Donohue and speakers were Clodagh Cunningham, Kajus Gasparavicius and Jack McGowan.

Round 2 takes place after midterm and the school debating team will be kept busy as they are also taking part in the ACCS debating competition in November.

Well done to all the students and their coach, Miss Leddy.
