Child Safeguarding Statement.
By Yeva Mariash, 3rd Year
The Student Council has been busy recently working on the school’s Child Safeguarding Policy.
As part of this work, the Child Safeguarding Statement was translated into well over 20 different languages to reflect the wide range of nationalities in the school.
A sub-committee made up of Student Council Representatives Nenyasha Maticha, Walter Duffy and Yeva Mariash took responsibility for organising the proofreading of these translations. They identified students in ACS who spoke each of the languages and divided the translated statements among them, allowing a week for the proof–reading to be completed. The next step will be to display these statements on the Student Council Noticeboard and then to hopefully incorporate them on the school website.
The Student Council would like to thank all students and parents who gave their time to help proof both the student and parent versions of the documents and Miss Mooney for her help in translations.
