Work Experience – LCVP – Date for Diary

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As part of our Link Modules programme students are required to source work experience to complete a Diary which is a key Portfolio item worth 50 marks. There is also a question on the written paper around the placement also worth 25 marks. 

We are strongly encouraging 5th year students to use this opportunity to source a work placement in a career area that they have an interest in finding out more about. It is now a good time to begin planning where the placement could be possibly arranged.

Students will receive a pack containing a letter to an Employer, Student Summary Sheet, Employer Guidelines and School Indemnity Details ( Insurance ). Under no circumstances can students begin work experience until this documentation is returned to the school.

The work experience takes place from week beginning 3rd March 2025. Students must complete minimum 3 days work placement, max 5 days. There will be no school that week for 5th years as all 5th years are now enrolled in the LCVP programme.

The documentation must be completed and returned to LCVP teachers by Friday 10th January 2025. It is important to note if a student is 16 years or over and requires Garda Vetting this must be brought to Ms Donohoe’s attention ASAP to have the disclosure in time for work placement.
