Junior Camogie Victory in Trim

By Erin Tobin, 2nd Year

The Junior Camogie girls played an excellent game against the Boyne C.S. on Thursday 5th of November. The team are coached by Ms Dowling and Ms O’Reilly.

The girls were raring to go when the ball was thrown in. The first score of the match came from captain Ellen Bray, who hit a lovely goal for ACS. The team worked extremely hard in the first half with some amazing scores from Mylah Carolan, Ellen Bray and Carys Heverin. The girls were focused and worked together to forge ahead as much as possible. When the half-time whistle blew, ACS had a well-earned lead.

In the second half, the girls played superbly again, even with the wind against them. The Boyne team got a few scores, but the Athboy C.S. fought back with scores from Katie Hendrick and Millie Robinson. Athboy fought for every ball and put lots of effort in, to finish with a well- deserved full-time score of 7-9 to 2-1, a great outcome for the girls in what was their first game. Well done to all the team and keep up the good work. Thanks to both coaches Ms Dowling and Ms O’Reilly.
