Parents Association Table Quiz

Athboy Community School Parents association held a very successful Table Quiz in the school on the evening of Thursday April 10th. The Quizmaster was Mr. Bernard O’Byrne who set an engaging ten rounds of questions for the nearly 40 tables on the night.

There was over €900 in spot prizes including vouchers for many local business and a signed Ireland training top from past pupil and Irish international Jamie McGrath. There were 24 prizes in all with lots of spot prizes too. 

An entertaining quiz was won on the night by the Doherty Family, their prize being four One-for All Vouchers sponsored by Turmec. In second place was a team headed by Eoin McConnell who took home €100 in cash sponsored by Le Cheile Athboy Credit Union.

In third place was the team led by Emma Mooney who took home a selection of wines and in fourth place was the Colgan family who scooped a selection of boxes of chocolates. 

A monster raffle followed with the prizes as follows.

A Faulkner’s Voucher for €200 was won by Nicky Duffy. A pair of designers Raybans from Athboy Eye Centre was won by Alan Ledwith. Kevin Hendrick won a McElhinney’s Menswear Voucher for €100, and the signed Jamie McGrath Ireland Jersey was won by Holly Griffin. Helen Dunne won a Last Stop Carpets Voucher for €100 and a JVC Sound Bar with built in subwoofer was won by Seren Mooney.

A Sophisticutz Voucher for Cut, Blowdry & Shellac was won by Kate Allat and a two Goodness Grains hampers were won by Hazel Denning and Jacqui McGowan. A Darnley Hotel Voucher for €50 was won by Daniel Dempsey and two €50 One for All vouchers from Athboy Credit Union went to John Heffernan and Reign.

There was a €50 Voucher for Athboy Karting Centre which went to Gerry Cleary, a €50 Voucher for Linhurst Pet Treats in Clonmellon won by Shane Neville and a €50 Voucher from Causey Farm won by Jacqui McGowan 

Lil Coyne won a Glamour Geek Beauty Salon Voucher for €30 and a KWB Toolkit with 35 tools went to Shane Neville. Grundig Bluetooth Headphones were won by Ryan Anderson and a beautiful Cushion from Tracey’s went to Dave Kearney. An Electric Toothbrush from An Fiaclóir Deirdre was won by James Devin and Lash Serums from Glow from Glowforit.ie went to Gez Betney. A free months membership for Body Empowerment Gym was won by Darragh Lowry and €40 cash from Athboy Physio went to Angela Willoughby. A Family (of 4) Day out in the Zoo was won by Catherine Casey. The Village Shop in Kildalkey, Osborne books and Daybreak, Athboy also generously sponsored prizes.
