Junior Hurling Final

On the Tuesday last, Athboy Community School headed to Kells to play Gallen Community School in the Leinster Hurling Final.  

Early on in the game Gallen took a strong lead which they continued to build on, going into the break with a strong seven point lead.  

Athboy showed great passion and determination to get back into the game but were unfortunate in the end against a strong opposition, losing by 8 points, the match ending in a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-8. 

Ryan Denning showed great skill by scoring many points from frees anda goal in the second half keeping Athboy CS in the game. The Athboy lads were unfortunate to lose having worked very hard but are excited to try again next season. 

Well done to the whole panel for getting so far and to the coaching staff Mr. Williams, Mr. McGovern and Mr. Sheridan. A big thank you also to Gaeil Colmcille, Kells for the use of the facilities.
